What is "Wire Sculpted" Jewelry? |
Gold-fill is unlike gold-plate in that gold-fill is generally considered a lifetime product and will not tarnish or wear off like electroplated products will. Gold-fill contains 100 times the amount of gold than gold-plate!
Gold-fill (also known as "rolled gold") is a layer of 14k gold that is mechanically bonded under heat and pressure to one or more surfaces of a supporting metal and then rolled, or drawn to a given thickness. All of Tuttles’ Trinkets jewelry consists of 14k/20 as opposed to 12k/20 gold-fill for its higher gold content and lasting durability.

 Bali Sterling Silver |
Bali, Indonesian sterling beads are apparent by the intricate detail and high quality. They are endividually crafted by an extremely labor-intensive process requiring tremendous skill and patience. Balinese silversmiths devote the same attentive care into each bead that they put into all aspects of their ceremonial life. The Balinese beads are so irresistible. They are not just a bead, but the reflection of a culture; the people, their perfectionism, and the devotion to their work which denotes each bead a work of art.

 Turkish Sterling |
|
Turkish silver beads are similar to those handcrafted in Bali. However, the Turkish beads have a slightly different feel and design to them. Like Bali beads, each silver dot is individually placed by the artist and surfaces are intricately detailed by hand. No two Turkish beads are alike. Turkish beads are as individual as the artist. They are true treasures portraying a lifetime of artistic culture and heritage |
Karen Hill Tribe (Thai Silver) |
The Karen Hill Tribes people are located in the remote mountain areas of Thailand. They are incredibly skilled silversmiths.
The Hill Tribe's beads is beautifully handcrafted out of a higher content silver, (usually .999 as opposed to .925), incorporating centuries-old techniques known only to the Hill Tribe's people, which makes their work distinctive to all other. Often the beads will be engraved with flowers, plants, animals and shapes significant to their culture and beliefs.
The Hill Tribes are grateful for the trade of their handcrafted silver pieces. Purchasing their masterpieces of silver art helps to aid in the preservation of their tribal culture and provides an alternative to growing opium, a traditional cash crop whereas the bulk of the world's opium is grown.

 Lampwork Glass |
A centuries old technique, Lampwork is done by winding the glass around a mandrel. Each bead’s hole is then diamond file polished. Each bead is then individually torch-blown or kiln-fused and properly kiln-annealed by the artist. The annealing process guarantees they are as hard as rocks -- durable enough for everyday wear with long lasting, heirloom quality.
Tuttles’ Trinkets individually selects each lampwork bead incorporated into each design. If the individual artist is known, their name will appear on Tuttles’ Trinkets website.

|
NASA was the first to use Dichroic Glass. Dichroic glass has been coated with various elements such as titanium and magnesium. The elements are then vaporized and vacuum deposited onto the glass so that certain wavelengths will pass through and others will reflect. Each piece is a work of art that can not be duplicated. |
 Are they Real?? |
Tuttles’ Trinkets pledges that all precious & semi-precious gemstones, cabochons and beads as well as crystal clusters, freshwater pearls, fossils and other non-traditional stones are GENUINE, unless otherwise specified.
Many people of different cultures have believed in the energies of minerals and the metaphysical properties associated with gemstones. Gemstones have been thought to relieve various ailments and alter moods by placing the stones on the body or in pouches. If you are interested in their healing properties, please read "Love is in the Earth," by Melody. |
 "Lab-Grown" vs. "Lab-Created" Gemstones |
Lab grown gemstones are real stones and should not be confused with pressed glass or simulated/lab-created stones.
Lab grown gemstones are unlike most lab created gemstones in that the lab-grown stones are made from the exact same gemstone material that mother nature uses. Each Lab-grown gemstones is precision cut and calibrated from crystal clusters which are formed by the same complex, time-consuming process that duplicates mother natures exact condition of heat and pressurization which causes the crystals to form. Lab grown gemstones are real and should not be confused with pressed glass or simulated/lab-created stones. |
